Why did you start practicing yoga?

Actually, my first curiosity about yoga was at 10 years old.. yep.. 10! Audrey, a friend of my oldest sister practiced yoga and there was something special about her, -a calm and a confidence that I attributed to that funny thing she did called yoga. Unbeknownst to Audrey, she planted a seed that would germinate 30 years later when I attended my first yoga class and practiced next to a woman whose aura was the same as I remembered Audrey’s to be. No doubt, I was home and these were my people.

Describe what students can expect when they come to your classes?

Warmth, heart, encouragement, authenticity, breath and the freedom to feel whatever comes up in a safe non-judgmental space.

What’s your style?

Baptiste. Encouraging breath and movement in a practical and purposeful practice. I speak to alignment, yet guide each student to draw awareness towards the sensations in their own skin. Doesn’t matter what it looks like to me, matters how it feels in them.

What would your final meal be if this was your last day on earth?

Well… I follow an anti inflammatory diet, but my last meal would look a little different. How about we start out with the most amazing cheddar popcorn from Candyland-a tiny family owned shop in downtown St. Paul MN. Next,...a deep dish garlic crusted pizza with fresh spinach, arugula, broccoli, and goat cheese topped with a TON of fresh parm and ranch on the side for dipping. Dessert? My friend Donna’s carrot cake-if not that, I’ll pass.

What is your favorite song or artist and why?

Today it’s the song “Most People Are Good” by Luke Bryon because I understand that sometimes in life if feels as if the clouds are covering the sun, … cling to the sun, push those clouds away and you’ll land in the sweet truth that most people are good.

Who or what inspires you?

Doubt my sincerity, take advantage of someone who is vulnerable, tell me I “can not” do, be or have something…. these are some sure ways to inspire me into action.

What is a quote you live by?

Oh, so many! about this weeks mantra?..

“Show up. Be real. Love more. Don’t quit”

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

If you could live in a book, TV show or Movie, what would it be?

My husband wants to answer this one. He says, “The Blind Side”, cause I remind him of Sandra Bullock’s “mama-bear” character …Thanks Tim-:)

What animal best represents you and why?

I’m a Leadersheep! A strain from Iceland that is known for being alert, highly intuitive, loyal, bred to lead during difficult times and when separated from its flock becomes agitated and loses focus.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?

Give me HEALING!! All day... everyday!.from minor cuts and bruises to serious illnesses and the physical and emotional effects of trauma.
