Why did you start practicing yoga?
A friend of mine persuaded me to attend class when a local studio opened up. I was very resistant to try and very intimidated, but after only a few classes I was hooked. I loved the way I felt after, and the strength and the ease that I found on my mat.
Describe what students can expect when they come to your classes?
Movement and lots of it! I strongly believe that the practice of combining breath and movement cultivates healing in the body. We’ve all had some type of trauma in our lives that we need heal from and yoga lets us do that, heal from the inside out.
What’s your style?
Challenging, athletic, flowy, all of that with a perfect amount of yin to balance things out.
What would your final meal be if this was your last day on earth?
I’m thinking pizza with lots of veggies :) And a glass or two of Redemption from Wolf Creek Winery.
What is your favorite song or artist and why?
I love Trevor Hall! Any of his music inspires me!
Who or what inspires you?
I find inspiration in my students. Yoga is hard. Not just physically, but emotionally. Students show up to get stronger, yes, but to also work on becoming better people, to let go of the past, to connect to themselves and something bigger. It’s hard work!
What is a quote you live by?
“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
St. Francis of Assissi
What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
My family. My three kids, my husband, my Mom and Dad. I’m always surrounded by so much LOVE!
What animal best represents you and why?
I would love to be a dog, always present in every moment, never dwelling on the past or looking to the future and always loving unconditionally. Working on those things always!
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?
To never fear and to always love! Love is the greatest power we all have.
