Kristen Nussbaum Yoga Pose

Kristen Nussbaum

Why did you start practicing yoga?

The first yoga class I ever took was actually a heated 60 minute vinyasa flow. My husband and I went for a date night. I was immediately hooked. The physical workout kept me coming back time and time again. As an injured runner/ gym member Hot power yoga gave me the physical outlet I craved and about a hundred other benefits I never saw coming. #yogaforlife

Describe what students can expect when they come to your classes?

I am a power yogi at my very core so students can expect to sweat and get the heart rate moving. But an even bigger part of my yoga is leading an intentional practice. A flow that will involve less thinking and more feeling. A purposeful practice. A practice that not only strengthens the body and mind but sustains and fuels them off the mat.

What’s your style?

Kickasana - Power vinyasa flow with a conscious moving meditation

What would your final meal be if this was your last day on earth?

How about a giant tub of guacamole with tortilla chips from Chipolte followed by Graters Black Raspberry chocolate chunk ice cream

What is your favorite song or artist and why?

I have to pick one???? I love music and creating playlists for my classes. Music can be powerful and inspiring as should be the practice. They should go hand in hand.

Who or what inspires you?

My kids. They are always my main motivator. They keep me honest and inspire me to be a better human. To lead a life of example and purpose. To show them that all things done from love and passion can never be wrong. And that a little hard work never hurt anyone.

What is a quote you live by?

"Everything you want is on the other side of fear."

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

There aren't many things I couldn't live without besides my family. But I have to say I would NOT like to live without my Sleep Number Bed. #sleepingismyfavorite

If you could live in a book, TV show or Movie, what would it be?

I'm a sucker for a romantic comedy. I will watch Sweet Home Alabama on repeat along with some oldies but classics like Urban Cowboy, Footloose, and Grease.

What animal best represents you and why?

A bear. I could get down with hibernating

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?

To slow time. So I'd never miss the opportunity to enjoy every moment of my life.
