Deepen Your Practice. Discover Your Voice. Learn to Teach with Confidence.
Whether you dream of teaching yoga or simply want to immerse yourself in the practice, our Yoga Alliance-accredited 200-Hour Teacher Training is designed to help you build a strong foundation—in your practice, your knowledge and yourself. It's about discovering your authentic voice, cultivating confidence, building meaningful relationships, and learning how yoga can become a lifelong practice of service.
Our introductory program combines hands-on teaching experience, philosophy, anatomy, meditation, and mentorship to prepare graduates to teach safely, compassionately and authentically. This immersive program blends the ancient wisdom of yoga with modern teaching methodology, providing a supportive and transformational experience that extends far beyond the mat.
You will study the Yamas and Niyamas, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Baron Baptiste’s Journey Into Power. Students will receive instruction and exposure to:
Yoga Asanas
Pranayama
Meditation
Anatomy
Yoga Teaching
Creative Yoga Sequencing
Assisting and Pose Variations
Trauma Informed Yoga
Chakra study
Gentle & Power Yoga
Yin & Restorative Yoga
The Business of Yoga Teaching
Prior to graduation, students will teach a free demonstration class open to the Roots community, family and friends.
Instructors:
Cassandra Woods
Francesca Jirsa
Jamie Winebrenner
Auburn Juliano-Herchek
Natalie Sydorenko
Megan Krebs
A Journey of Transformation:
Students often begin this journey because they love yoga.
They graduate with so much more:
Greater confidence
Strong friendships
A deeper understanding of themselves
Practical teaching skills
A lifelong community
Many graduates choose to teach. Others simply become more grounded, mindful, and connected in their everyday lives. We believe both paths are equally valuable.
Is This Program Right for You?
This training is perfect if you:
Love yoga and want to deepen your practice
Dream of teaching someday
Want to build confidence
Enjoy learning in a supportive community
Feel called to explore yoga beyond the physical practice
You do not need to be able to touch your toes, balance on your hands, or perform advanced poses.
You simply need curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Please carefully review the dates for this 200-hr training program. Students will be expected to attend and participate in all sessions, and any missed time will require additional work outside of class that must be approved by the lead instructor. Additional time is expected to be spent outside of class with homework, personal practice, journaling and reflection, meditation, etc. Students will also be required to attend two Roots workshops (included in cost of tuition) and 2 classes outside of Roots Yoga & Barre (not included in tuition).
